Overheard during cleanup

C: "Mommy? I've made a new rule for you."

Mommy: "Oh really? And what would that rule be?"

C: "If I am too tired, you clean up."

Mommy: "Ah. And I have a new rule for you."

C: "What is it?"

Mommy: "If you are too tired to clean up, you are too tired for TV and books."

C: "I don't think I like that rule."

Mommy: "Huh, well, rules are rules. I guess since you are too tired to clean up I have to do it."

C: "Well, I guess I COULD clean up, just a little. "
